For me it's in and around Letterfrack/Renvyle on the western coast of Ireland. While quaint, picturesque shots abound [if that's your cup of tea] there are also opportunities to capture the magnificent and sublime, the minuscule and the subtle.
I'm also fond of the southwestern Slovenian countryside. It's brooding and temperamental; I like it. The trees are spindly and enmeshed together across the hills. The sunlight drips through the gaps in the trees and the holes in the clouds, falling in dreary blobs across tired roofs and cracked plaster.
Goldfield, an old mining town turned tourist attraction in Arizona, is very fun to work with. It's simultaneously lazy and piquant, and the madame in the bordello makes for interesting subject material.
What is your favorite photography locale? Mt. Kilimanjaro? Paris? Amazonia? The post office? I'm interested. :]
